Description

AI Society of Hong Kong is back at Garage Academy on Tuesday 27th Aug for a look into Alternative AI

As a pioneer in Artificial Life technology and applications, Eberhard Schoeneburg will discuss and propose an alternative path towards AI and AGI that uses key artificial life principles and methods rather than classical and popular AI and AGI approaches such as Deep Learning. He will also discuss the Penrose/Hameroff quantum model of consciousness and what we can learn from it for alternative approaches to AGI.

The main idea of the Alternative AI (AAI) approach is to consider the brain as a biological super-organism and to build hybrid environments to grow and harvest brain like nurtured super organisms in a concrete series of steps starting with sophisticated computer viruses and computer bacteria rather than trying to developing AGI using a combination of standard AI engineering technics and tools with their known limitations of generating true intelligence.
